About Sarah
Sarah Wood is a 20 year old sophomore at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee, majoring in Vocal Music Performance and minoring in Language Arts. She graduated from Pueblo East High School in 2013, where she was a member of the National Honor Society, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was active in advanced choir, jazz choir, All City choir, All State Choir, All State Jazz Choir, and Speech and Debate, which she qualified for Nationals all three years she was active. She has also been active in several theaters in Pueblo as well as ballet and enjoys singing, acting, dancing, playing the piano, guitar, mandolin, ukulele, and writing her own music.
Sarah has been writing her own music since she was 12 years old and has been performing in Colorado, Wyoming, California, Arizona, and Nashville, Tennessee. She plays several instruments but it’s her vocals that captivate the audience making them come back for more.
In 2011 Sarah won runner up for the National vocal competition and in 2012 she was in the top five for the National Songwriting Competition which both took place at the National GMA IMMERSE conference in Nashville TN. For the past two years Sarah won the Silver Award for best solo artist at “The Pueblo’s Best” awards and was featured on the National PBS “Need to Know” documentary which focused on “Main Street America” in Pueblo Co. Sarah was asked to write a song for the documentary which she called “Home of The Heroes.” In January of 2013, Sarah spent a week in Haiti with the Health4Haiti organization, sharing her ministry through medical assistance and through music. Also in 2013 Sarah won the "Outstanding Arts Achievement Award" given by the "Pueblo Arts Alliance."
Sarah has performed over 100 shows in the last year. She has written over 60 songs and recorded her first demo album “So It Is Written”, in 2010 her second album, “Waking Up Breathing” in 2011 and her third album "Moving On" in 2013. Her first music video “Harmony” was released in 2010 and her second, “Little Red Balloon”, was released in August 2011. Sarah has been co-writing with some of the top writers in the Christian music industry and has been working with Cindy Wilt-Colville, one of the top song Developers in the industry.
In the fall of 2013, Sarah started an indie-folk band, The Arcadian Wild, with fellow Lipscomb University students, Everett Davis, Lincoln Mick, and Isaac Horn. The four are currently writing, recording, and touring across the nation.
Sarah is extremely grateful for the opportunities that she has been given throughout the years, and hopes to make a difference through music that she creates. She is excited for what the Lord has in store for the future, and would like to thank you very much for your support!
